TOPS Learning Systems : Get a Grip! #73
by Ron Marson Author
This developmentally appropriate TOPS Learning System allows learners of ALL ages, and ALL levels of understanding, to interact with numbers on a concrete level, yet express themselves symbolically in the language of math and science. These numbers are volume constants, represented on containers by simple pictures that even little kids can drew. Hard numbers underlie the quantitative logic of everything students do in Get a Grip, but they are expressed in the form circle, square, triangle rather than one, two, three. This allows learners to build a solid understanding of mathematical relationships based entirely on experience.
